An Exhibit Tells All.
“Wow, I am wiped out!!!” … Honestly, I can barely move anymore. I have no idea how many hands have touched me or how many pairs of eyes have admired me. But one thing’s for sure: It was sooooo cool! I never would have expected that. But let me start at the beginning…
Just a few weeks ago, I came fresh off the production line, sparkling clean and full of energy. I didn’t know much about the world and really, I only knew my manufacturers. So there I stood, a bit shy, when suddenly a big truck pulled up. “Off to WUM!” someone shouted. Wum? Who? What? Where?
The ride was exciting. Bumping, swaying, strange noises. And then: a big hall. People in work clothes, the scent of wood and fresh paint. Welcome to the stand builder WUM, my new home for the time being.
Fresh arrival: a new world full of possibilities.
No sooner had I arrived than things got started. Caring hands carefully unpacked me. The warehouse manager and the project manager inspected me from every angle. “Looks good!”, “A little scratch here, we can fix that.” Whew, what a relief.
Then I was measured. Don’t tickle!!! They recorded everything carefully, took photos of me from all sides. Suddenly, I heard someone talking about the “ExpoHub.” My data was going in there, so my manufacturer could see where I was and whether I was ready for use. Cool! I was now officially registered – a real trade show exhibit!

A nice spot on the storage shelf was waiting for me. To my right, a huge piece; to my left, a tiny high-gloss screw. I quickly learned that every exhibit here has its own story, and I made my first friends.
Time passed, and in graphics, production, and the carpentry shop, designs were brought to life; and then the big day came: “Off to the trade show!” someone called. And just like that, I was back on the truck, in a chic, padded, custom-made transport box just for me. I felt like a real VIP.

At the trade show, the assemblers carefully unpacked me. Everything was huge: high hall ceilings, colorful lights, bustling activity everywhere. My podium was already waiting. With trembling screws, I was mounted and aligned – and then the spotlights came on.
I was the star! Visitors came closer, admired me, took photos, asked my manufacturer for details. Some even stroked my casing! (Okay, I think I’m allowed to feel a little proud now – right?)
The big moment: in the spotlight at the trade show.
My manufacturer beamed from ear to ear. “Our exhibit is attracting all the attention!” I heard him say. I almost burst with happiness. All the efforts of the trade show construction had really paid off.
After a few days full of flashes, admiration, and stage fright, I was carefully packed up again. Back onto the truck, back to WUM. Home.
Now I’m lying here on a workbench. Small scratches from all the admiration – real badges of honor! The painter will take care of me soon; I feel I’m in the best hands. A little polish here, a new coat of paint there, and I’ll be sparkling again.
Exhausted but proud: ready for the next mission.
Soon I’ll be back on the shelf with my friends. And who knows? Maybe the next adventure, the next trade show, the next admiring glances are just around the corner. 🥰
One thing I know for sure: With the pros from WUM by my side, the next journey will be a success too.
