The international trade fair for plastics processing Fakuma has been held in Friedrichshafen at Lake Constance since 1981. Its very special event schedule is directly related to the “K” in Düsseldorf. Because the “K” only takes place every 3 years. In the two years in which the “K” takes a break, the experts in plastics technology meet at Lake Constance. In the “Fakuma years” it is the most important industry event for the plastics industry and therefore occupies second place in the international ranking of plastics fairs, directly behind the “K” in Düsseldorf.
Due to its personal and almost familiar atmosphere, Fakuma attracts many visitors despite its isolated location. The focus will be on the technologies of the future. As a “pioneer for solutions in plastics”, Fakuma enjoys a high status among the experts. As recent trade fair surveys have shown, the exhibitors repeatedly find that the sometimes very long journey to Friedrichshafen was worthwhile, especially during the follow-up to their discussions.
Special topics at the Fakuma
In addition to the extensive range of injection moulding technology – with which Fakuma is one of the world’s leading companies – it also impresses with extrusion technology and thermoforming. Exhibitors can exchange their numerous new discoveries and ideas about plastics technologies, their tooling systems and components with each other or with trade visitors. There will also be various forums and workshops which will make the programme at Fakuma even more interesting.
Review 2016
The 85,000 square metre exhibition area is home to 1,700 exhibitors. Of these, 680 come from abroad. Due to their geographical proximity, a large proportion come from Italy. This means that the trade fair has a wide reach. After all, the 45,000 trade visitors come from 120 different countries of origin.
