IMEX will take place this year from 15 to 17 May in Frankfurt. It is a trade fair for the tourism and event industry. IMEX describes itself as an international trade fair for meetings, incentives, conferences and events.
The name IMEX cannot be directly derived. It stands for incorporating Meetings made in Germany – The Worldwide Exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events. It takes place every year in May in Frankfurt am Main. In October there will also be IMEX America in Las Vegas.
IMEX belongs to the so-called MICE industry. MICE is an abbreviation for Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Events. Instead of the MICE industry, the terms “conference industry” or “conference industry” are also used from time to time.

IMEX-special feature: Hosted Buyer
With so-called hosted buyers, the fair tries to increase its attractiveness even further. Hosted buyers are particularly well served customers. Decision-makers from the meeting and event industry are invited to Frankfurt at the fair organiser’s expense. Hosted buyers receive free travel and accommodation during their IMEX visit. You have to apply for the status of a Hosted Buyer.
High demands on the exhibition stand
Whoever exhibits here must be measured by high standards. The industry environment means that you have to stand out from the crowd if you want to be noticed.
But to stand out does not mean to be lifted. It’s about setting accents. This is also possible with understatement.
