Every year at the end of October the trade fair for the finance and insurance industry, the DKM, takes place. This year it will all happen on 23 October. Dortmund has been the trade fair location since 1999. But it was founded in Bayreuth back in 1995.
Industry highlight
It is regarded as the leading trade fair for the industry. It is the central communication platform between independent sales and providers of financial and insurance products as well as industry services.
Around 300 exhibitors present their products and services for the intermediary market. They come from companies in the insurance, investment, capital investment, finance, real estate, claims settlement, software, media, law firms, trade associations and industry support services sectors.
Extensive offer for the specialized visitors
Trade visitors include independent insurance brokers and financial service providers as well as real estate agents.
One of the many reasons not to miss the annual highlight of the industry is the huge amount of information and not to forget the direct access to many different companies!
Networking and thus effective exchange is also very well possible at the annual trade fair! Over 16,300 trade fair participants will meet: from representatives of product providers and exhibiting companies to insurance brokers, independent financial service providers, bank consultants and asset managers.
Additional offers
Many experts from the industry meet at the DKM. Speakers from the finance and insurance industries will prepare up-to-date topics for trade visitors in congresses, lectures, discussions and workshops.
In addition to the informative daily events, numerous communicative events are also offered. For example, the DKM warm-up event, which is a great way to get in the mood for the trade fair days.
Trade fair planning in advance
Exhibitors will be provided with a platform that can be used as an appointment coordination tool. Here, appointments can be arranged in advance. Starting in September, all exhibitors offering this service will be listed on the DKM homepage.
DKM as App
You can also find an app on iTunes and in the Google Play Store, which will provide all the necessary trade fair information from September. It is also possible to create a list of favourites. With regard to the wide range of interesting exhibitors and events, this has a great added value.
Why “DKM” ? – The origin of the name
The trade fair for the finance and insurance industry is often referred to as the DKM. It is a registered trademark and develops from the word “cover concept fair”. Today, the DKM is much more than that. However, the abbreviation has remained the same.
The 20th anniversary edition in 2016
Two years ago the DKM celebrated its 20th anniversary. Around 300 exhibitors and over 16,300 trade fair participants took part in the interesting congresses and informative workshops in the anniversary year 2016. One of the most dominant topics was digitalization.
WUM Design at the DKM
As an exhibition stand construction company, WUM Design of course always has DKM in focus. For both Generali Versicherung AG and SEB Steuerberatungsgesellschaft mbH mbH we have developed concepts for exhibition stands with very different specifications.
Our customer HDI Versicherung AG won the German Brand Award at DKM 2017. The trade fair stand, which was designed and realised by WUM Design, received the German Brand Award 2018 “Brand Creation – Brand Experience, Fairs & Exhibition” in the “Excellence in Brand Strategy, Management and Creation” class for holistic brand management.
