ACHEMA fair in Frankfurt

With over 2,000 exhibitors from around the world, ACHEMA is the world’s largest exhibition for the process industry. More than 70,000 visitors attended the latest event in August 2022 to learn about process innovations for chemical engineering, process technology and biotechnology.

Generally, the trade show is held in Frankfurt every three years. However, due to the Corona pandemic, the planned 2021 event had to be cancelled and rescheduled to August 2022. The next ACHEMA will be held from June 10, 2024 until June 14, 2024.

At ACHEMA 2022, the Pharmaceutical, Packaging and Storage Technology exhibition group recorded the greatest growth. The “measurement, control and process control technology” group also increased against the background of the digitalisation and automation trends. Other themes with increased space occupancy were the areas of mechanical process technology and safety technology. In contrast, the plant engineering and laboratory technology groups lost some of their relevance.

ACHEMA is more than just a trade fair

The exhibition program was rounded off by other events from the field of process innovation.

The ACHEMA Congress provided interesting insights into current research and the latest findings in the fields of chemical process technology and biotechnology. On the first three days of the exhibition, the congress programme focused on the topics of resources, digitalisation and energy and climate. In particular, the lectures on the areas of digitalisation and energy were very well attended.

In addition, since 2015 various PRAXISforums have been held in the immediate vicinity of the halls to bring exhibitors and users even closer together. The forums were again very well received in 2022.

2022 ACHEMA had three focus topics: As part of the “Digital Lab”, companies from the laboratory and analytical technology sector presented innovations from their field. “Modular and Connected Production” referred to various innovations from the pharmaceutical and chemical industry that are flexibly constructed and networkable. The topic of digital security was also given its forum at ACHEMA 2022, with 330 exhibitors presenting their innovations for “Product and Process Security”.
In this sense, the fair is an important contact point for technically oriented specialists and managers as an information platform for engineers in production and manufacturing.
