The K in Düsseldorf can look back on more than 60 years of history. In 1952 the fair was organised for the first time by the Nordwestdeutsche Ausstellungsgesellschaft – NOWEA, today’s Messe Düsseldorf. It takes place every 3 years. The next K, the K 2019, will take place in October 2019, from 16th to 23rd October. 270 exhibitors were at the start of the first K and 165,000 visitors came to the fair.
The number of exhibitors has increased considerably since then. In 2016 there were 3,293 exhibitors from 59 countries at K in Düsseldorf. In contrast, the number of visitors increased only moderately to 232,053. In the meantime, K in Düsseldorf has become the world’s largest trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry.

Review of K 2016
K 2016 focused on four major themes: resource efficiency, new materials, lightweight construction and, as at the Hanover Industrial Fair, industry 4.0. This harmony will have a lasting impact on the plastics and rubber industry over the next few years.
