“The heartbeat of the industry.” This is how the world’s largest and most important trade fair for construction and mining machinery, based in Munich, describes itself on its website. And the “Bauma” has truly earned this title. Every three years, global key players from the construction industry meet here to present their latest products. Bauma is indeed one of the most important events in the industry. But this was not always the case.
More than 60 years ago, in 1954, a small construction fair was held at Theresienhöhe in Munich under the title “Spring Show for Construction Machinery”. Since then, the trade fair has grown rapidly in size and importance. Within a few years it had become the most important trade fair of its kind. Meanwhile it attracts the whole building industry.
In 2019, the 32nd Bauma attracted more than 3,700 exhibitors and around 620,000 visitors on an area of 614,000 square metres in all the halls of the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. This is the previous record.
The degree of internationality is particularly impressive. Exhibitors from 58 nations were represented at the last Bauma. Visitors came from a total of 200 countries. That alone speaks for itself.

Bauma has developed rapidly in the recent years. In the meantime it even has a presence in the social media. The Bauma movie is definitely something to watch and gives a good impression of the size and dimensions of the fair.

At the moment there is enough time to think about the next exhibition stand. WUM Design will also be available in 2022 to become active as a stand builder.
